Christmas Wrapping

Firstly…the best thing about Christmas wrapping is that, this year, I am done.  Finished this afternoon while Jess was out and about.  But, actually the title of this post is more about one of my favorite holiday songs, “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses. They’re a fun New Wave group that had a few minor hits in the early ’80s.  Most likely you remember them from their hit “I Know What Boys Like” or the theme to Square Pegs.

Here is their Christmas song tied to someone’s light display.  It’s a feel-good song about missed chances and happy endings.

One more thing…thanks for the shout-out from my friend Jen at the Pashtastic Four.  Go read her blog and buy her books.  You will be a better person. Do it now and buy one for a friend.

Advent Calendars

Jess and I finally bought a reusable Advent calendar.  This will hopefully be a marked improvement over the disposable, flavorless versions we’ve purchased in the past.  She’s filling gifts for the odd days and I’m filling the even.  The Bex and I shared some chocolate snowmen this evening.  By shared, I mean he ate the chocolate and I watched.  I was not going to deny him.  Especially after he made some valiant attempts to say “chocolate” and repeatedly saying, “More! More!”

I hope Jess enjoys the treats I’ve left in the even days.  I actually put at least a little thought to it.
